In columbia, south carolina we have a south University campus but there’s also a south university online. if receiving a degree from this college would the employer know that I didn’t receive it online but was actually attending this college in a classroom setting? I’m asking this because alot of employers do not take on-line degrees seriously!

PostHeaderIcon Will employers view an online masters degree the same as one taken in a classroom?

online masters program

I am thinking about getting my masters degree and want to make sure that I don’t end up wasting my time and money. I don’t live close to a college and would prefer to take classes online due to my current schedule. Does anyone know how I can make sure that the program comes from an accredited and well ranked college? (a website) I already have a BS in Criminal Justice and plan to get my masters in that field. Any advice would be appreciated.

PostHeaderIcon What is the difference in doing a Masters program online vs going to the actual school?

online masters programs

I want to go enroll in a Masters Graphic Design program online at Savannah School or Design. I heard they have a really good program and I am seriously thinking of enrolling. I know that by going to the actual school I will have more of an opportunity to learn from my teachers and they can actively critique my work and I can even talk to my classmates and learn more through them. I just want to know what other differences there are. Will employers see the difference and frown upon seeing them or will the online Masters degree still hold its own? I really want to work and go to school now without having to move to Georgia. I would seriously consider moving to Georgia if there really are some significant differences.

I excel at school when I am able to take classes online. Do employers have an opinion on online vs. traditional degrees? Are master’s programs tougher to get into if the applicant has an online degree? Do you know of any nationally accredited online degree programs?

PostHeaderIcon Accredited online education masters degree program for Texas?

online masters program

I’m trying to find an online school that offers a masters in education program that would be recognized and accepted while I’m teaching in Texas. Anybody that teaches in Texas get a masters degree online, that their district recognized and can share what site and program they went through?
So far no teachers from Texas have been able to help me answer my questions. I really don’t want either of these first two answers to get any points, because they are so what I was hoping not to get. Obviously I’m aware there are many online colleges available, any dummy with a search engine could find that out, but accreditation varies by state so if you don’t know specifics please don’t waste your time.

PostHeaderIcon Does anyone know anything about Univ of WI - La Crosse’s online master’s programs?

online masters programs

Does anyone know anything about Univ of Wisconsin - La Crosse’s online master’s degree programs…specifically the program in Student Affairs?

I work full-time in a university and want to get my master’s degree. However, a traditional on-campus program won’t work for me because I cannot afford to quit my job (plus this job is related to the degree I want). I was just wondering if anyone has heard any positives or negatives to their online programs.

PostHeaderIcon Master’s degree, Doctorate, or just Certificates?

online doctoral programs

I’ll be starting my undergraduate degree in Computer Information Systems with an emphasis in Information Systems Security fairly soon. It’s an online degree with DeVry University, known well for their technology degrees among others and not just online.

I want to get further education after I get my undergrad degree. My old roommate, at this university I was at for about a year, ended up getting his undergrad degree in computer science and skipping his master’s and going straight for his doctorate which he did end up getting and now he’s working for Google.

I thought about doing that, but ONE, I don’t know if a doctoral program (non-online) would accept an online undergrad degree as a requirement. TWO, my cousin who teaches computer science classes advised that I go for my undergrad degree and then get Cisco certificates instead of going for another degree.

What do you think?
